There is no problem with the Tilapia in the natural pond because it is fed with algae and other plants but most of the Tilapia consumed today are farm-raised. Farm-raised Tilapia have been found to be responsible for some illness in the body including Joint inflammations, Asthma, Coronary diseases and others.
Generally, farm-raised fishes contains cancer-causing agents. They also retain pesticides used in treating them in their bodies after harvesting.
Also, farm-raised Tilapia contains low level of protein and a higher level of Omega 6 unsaturated fats compared with Omega 3ones. This imbalance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 is not good for the body
