It's About Time
As much as you don’t want to hear it, there is a time for patience.
There’s a time for doing nothing. There’s a time where the only option is to wait. There’s a time when continuing to pursue something or someone is futile.
It’s no fun, but you need to recognize these situations to save yourself a lot of wasted work and a lot of needless worry.
When you’ve finished the final interview and sent a thank you, there’s nothing else you can do. After you send that girl a text to see if she’d like to see you tomorrow night, there’s nothing else you can do.
You could over-obsess and do additional research and parse out the previous responses to look for clues.
You could. But don’t.
There’s a time to say, “My work here is done.” That’s when you just let it go, move on to the next thing, and let yourself be pleasantly surprised when you end up getting positive news after all.
